Baltimore Children's Museum

Last September, we visited the Baltimore Children's Museum with friends. It was awesome so we decided to buy an annual pass. It rained last weekend so we decided to take the trek out there and the kids had a blast. They currently have an exhibit called The Wonders of Water and it was a huge hit with the Kendrick kids. The museum provided rain coats but the kids still ended up soaked. The exhibit included a huge water table with dams, water wheels, water toys, etc. They also had a section for kids to devise there own water fountain pvc pipes/joints and sprinkler heads for the water to spray out. Andrew is obssesed with plumping and pipes so he loved this!
The play train is always a must see as well ....

PM Kittens Ribbon Ceremony

Andrew and Abbey have finished their first year in preschool. Yeah! They had their ribbon ceremony today at 2:30 to commemorate the event. Each child was given a "ribbon" around his/her neck and a special surprise bag which included a new book, a bag of teddy grahams, and all of their laminated name tags used during the school year. Mrs. Bailey said something special about each child as she presented them with their ribbon. Abbey was first and she said how Abbey was a sweet girl who always gave hugs to anyone in need. For Andrew she said he was such a sweet boy and that it is no secret that he hates fire drills. Andrew was sentimental and almost cried when I asked him if he wanted to give his teachers one last hug before we left. Abbey was much more focused on what was inside her gift bag. I am so proud of both of them for all that they have accomplished in their very first year of pre-school!

Allie's Sense of Style

So Allie loves clothes and shoes. Every morning she tries on at least one of my pairs of shoes. I caught her in these boots yesterday and thought she looked hilariously cute!

Then, tonight while I was making dinner she put together this little number... I love the patterned tights over swimsuit look, don't you? Oh well, she has time to learn the art of coordination!

Mother's Day

We had a nice Mothers Day this year. We went out to lunch at Mimis Cafe in Dulles, Va and drove around a few prospective neighborhoods afterwords. It was a windy and rainy day unfortunately! Andrew and Abbey had a special art project surprise for me in their buckets when I picked them up from school last Thursday.
The poem reads:
Happy Mother's Day
I've made some May flowers
with my finger and thumb
So you'll have these memories
For all the years
to come.
I love to look at my kids hands. Andrew's are so plump and strong and Abbey's are delicate and long. What a cute way to make a flower arrangement!

Dress-Up

The kids love to play dress-up. The girls have lots of princess outfits, tutus, and old Halloween costumes to choose from. Poor Andrew only has one dress-up choice, the firefighter costume. It doesn't seem to bother him though. The girls head for their closet to choose something and he asks me to get his costume down. Poor guy, I should find him some more options! We had their friends Nina and Eve over and I couldn't resist the chance to take a picture of everyone.

Mom

My Mom passed away almost 2 1/2 years ago. I occasionally have vivid dreams about her and miss her so much it is suffocating. I had a dream a few nights ago about her. She was wearing her classic go with anything ivory colored sweater with buttons up the front. It had the smell that I remember from my childhood and it made me miss her so much. She was such a loving, sweet, and strong person. Sometimes I wish I could call her to tell her that Andrew loves swimming lessons, Abbey learned how to write the letter "A" or that Allie climbed to the top of the jungle gym. Or to ask her what I was like when I was 4. I can't and it kills me sometimes. I like to think she is in a better place watching over our little family. I love you Mom.
